Our budget plans for 2022/23 were agreed by Council on Thursday 24 February 2022. These show how we will deliver a balanced budget and also set out our plans for the future.

Budget proposals at a glance:
- £6m to support the creation of 200 apprenticeship and training positions over the next three years
- £1m to support a potential contract price increase
- £1m to support delivery of key actions in the Council’s Net Zero Action Plan
- £671k to support the forthcoming redesign of the Education Service with additional support for learning
- £440k to support the health and wellbeing of children and young people
- £161k to enhance the provision and accessibility music tuition in schools
- £92k to enhance the support for victims of domestic abuse in East Ayrshire in line with the current need and local and national priorities
- £50k will facilitate changes to the lunch offer in secondary schools, as proposed by the Children and Young People's Cabinet
- Council tax will increase by 3%
- Housing rents, garages and lock-ups will all increase by 1.5%
- £6m expenditure reduction measures
- Bereavement Services fees for 2022/23 will be held at same rate as 2019/20
