Through our Transformation Strategy, we have been working to redesign our services with and for communities, and ensure that our annual budget plans reflect our vision of a fairer, kinder and connected East Ayrshire.

With the onset of COVID-19, we needed to focus on the immediate needs of our communities and ensure that the most vulnerable were looked after. We were able to quickly develop new ways of working across organisational boundaries that put people and communities first.

The approach that evolved naturally during the COVID-19 emergency response built upon our strong partnership foundations, and will continue to shape how we work with our partners into the future, as we look to review our Community Plan.

Over the past year, we have been listening to people’s experiences and looking for the common threads that will help us to build back better. We have been inspired by people’s willingness to talk with us to share their experiences, and about how they came together to support each other in a time of crisis.

Our three priorities

From these conversations, we identified three cross-cutting priorities for our recovery and renewal and these priorities are also shaping our budget and investment plans for the year ahead.

Budget conversations are now closed. If you have any queries, please get in touch by emailing  vibrantvoices@east-ayrshire.gov.uk.

Thank you to everyone who commented on the Budget Conversations. Your Vibrant Voices will help Elected Members to find the right balance when they set the budget at Special Council on 4 March 2021.
