Decision notices tell you whether your application has been approved or refused.
If approved, the decision notice may set out a number of conditions relating to the decision. These conditions must be followed when carrying out the development. The decision notice will also set out the reasons for these conditions and the reasons for the decision.
If an application has been refused, the reasons for the refusal of permission will be explained.
Decision notices include an explanation of requirements for notices of initiation and completion of development. Copies of the forms are provided for completion by the developer and should be returned to the planning authority before the development starts and again upon completion of development.
The route of any appeal/review will depend upon how the application was originally decided, whether under powers delegated to officers or by a council committee. This will be clearly explained in the decision notice.
