An advertisement control area is where a local authority has removed automatic permission (known as deemed consent) for advertisements within an area.

Schedule 4 of the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) (Scotland) Regulations 1984 lists the classes of advertisements with deemed consent.

Where this applies in East Ayrshire

The John Finnie Street and Bank Street ‘Outstanding’ Conservation Area is currently the only area within East Ayrshire which has removed deemed consent for advertisements.
