We have carried out a sustainability appraisal of the Alteration to the East Ayrshire Local Plan, as an integral part of the local plan preparation process.
The Alteration to the East Ayrshire Local Plan is required by legislation to be subject to a Strategic Environmental Assessment, as it is a land use document which sets the framework for future development consent. Therefore, the Sustainability Appraisal itself contains a separate environmental report, as required by the Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes (Scotland) Regulations 2004 and socio-economic appraisal of the document.
