The Shop Front Improvement Scheme is funded through the Place Based Investment Programme and Scotland’s Towns Partnership.
During Phase 1 (2021/2022) of the scheme, six community groups across East Ayrshire in:
- Newmilns
- Darvel
- Stewarton
- Cumnock
- Kilmarnock and
- Crosshouse
co-ordinated improvements to shop fronts in their town or village and over 50 businesses directly benefited from the scheme.
In most cases, the improvement work on shop fronts was carried out by local traders and contractors.
