To ensure collection before Christmas Day, all special uplift requests should be received by Friday 13 December 2024.

Uplift requests received after Friday 13 December 2024 will not be uplifted until week beginning Monday 6 January 2025 at the earliest.

Our special uplift service provides two different types of collections for East Ayrshire residents:

Bulky uplift

A wide range of items can be collected using our bulky uplift service. For example:

  • furniture
  • carpets
  • mattresses
  • three piece suites
  • electrical items such as televisions
  • white goods such as:
    • cookers
    • fridges and freezers (we will not collect if there's food waste inside)
    • washing machines
    • tumble dryers
    • dishwashers

We also separate as many materials as possible for recycling or reuse. This means uplifts may require more than one vehicle or visit.

Items that will not be collected

The following DIY and demolition debris will not be collected:

  • windows
  • doors
  • garden sheds
  • bricks
  • slabs or builders rubble
  • trees
  • fencing
  • coal bunkers
  • storage heaters
  • asbestos
  • vehicle parts
  • fridges/freezers containing food waste
  • large american style fridges/freezers

Charges

The following charges apply:

  • 1-3 items: £15.93
  • 4-5 items: £29.21
  • £3.49 per additional item – with a maximum of 10 additional items allowed per uplift

Please note that a separate charging structure applies to kitchens and bathrooms.

Discounts

Residents in receipt of benefit relating to Council Tax or Housing Benefit are eligible to a 50% discount on published charges.

Recycling centres

Any items taken directly to our Recycling Centres by residents will be accepted free of charge.

Kitchen and bathroom uplift

If you have employed a contractor to replace your kitchen units or to refit your bathroom, then all waste should be removed as part of their contract with you.

However, if required, we will uplift kitchen units and bathroom suites for a charge of £104.78 per uplift.

Please note that kitchen units and bathroom suites are not accepted as eligible items as part of a bulky uplift request.
