Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) provide a framework for assessing and managing risks posed by certain categories of offenders.
MAPPA brings together the expertise and resources of key agencies to develop and deliver plans to protect the public from being harmed by individuals who may pose a risk. MAPPA specifically covers:
- registered sex offenders
- offenders assessed as posing a risk of serious harm to the public
- restricted patients
