The Town Centre Regeneration Team works closely with Cumnock Business Association and Kilmarnock Business Association to help promote the shop local message and drive footfall and encourage trade in our town centres.
The two associations are made of local businesses who regularly meet to network, share good practice, share information and skills but most importantly, are committed to creating vibrant towns in which to shop, eat, live and work.
Benefits of a business association
Some benefits of being part of a business association include:
- being able to apply for funding
- support from peers
- a place to have your say and shape the future of your high street
Recent partnership working with business associations has led to the East Ayrshire Gift Card which is already boosting businesses and the local economy.
We can help businesses with practical advice, help to identify funding opportunities and training opportunities.
How to join a business association
All businesses are welcome to join Cumnock or Kilmarnock Business Association but if your local business community is considering creating its own business association for your town or village please get in touch for more information on how we can help.

Testimonials
Although 2020 has been challenging, the Kilmarnock Business Association has worked very closely with the Town Centre Regeneration Team and their help and support has been invaluable in helping us achieve many of our objectives. As we go forward that working partnership is key, we need to work in partnership with the Council and other local groups in order to continue to make improvements which will not only benefit the businesses but the community as a whole.
Peter Telfer, Kilmarnock Business Association
I feel like having the Town Centre Regeneration Team supporting Cumnock has been invaluable and for the short time they have been in operation it has been incredibly impactful. Having the team available to support the Cumnock Business Association has enabled a conduit facility between the businesses and the Council.
Marion Gilliland, Cumnock Business Association
