The State of the Environment Report collates up-to-date baseline information on the environment within East Ayrshire and how it is changing. This information can be used to inform policy formulation across the Council and will inform the assessment of planning and related applications. The document was approved by the Council’s Cabinet on 17 August 2016.

The State of the Environment Report covers a range of topic areas split into chapters as follows; Geology and Soil, Landscape and Visual, Ecology and Nature Conservation, Air Quality, Water Environment, Climate, Historic Environment, Population and Human Health, Noise and Vibration and Material Assets. The State of Environment Report was updated in March 2019 and will be updated again in three years time.
