Notice of resolution
Notice is hereby given that East Ayrshire Council has made a resolution in respect of sexual entertainment venues.
East Ayrshire Council, the licensing authority for East Ayrshire in terms of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982, as amended, hereby resolve:
- that as from 28 April 2023 a licence known as a 'sexual entertainment venue licence' shall be required for the use of premises which provide sexual entertainment before a live audience. The definition of 'sexual entertainment' is any live performance or any live display of nudity which is of such a nature, ignoring financial gain, which is provided solely or principally for the purpose of sexually stimulating any member of the audience
- that the foregoing resolution is made in relation to the whole of East Ayrshire, being the area of the licensing authority
- that the number of venues to operate within East Ayrshire be set at zero
Notice is hereby given:
(i) that with effect from 28 April 2023 it will be an offence in terms of Section 45A, 45B and 45C of Part III, Schedule 2, of the above Act to carry on the activity of providing sexual entertainment before a live audience without the appropriate licence and
(ii) that applications for licences will be considered by the licensing authority after 28 April 2023
