School events

Recruitment events took place in September and October 2024 in both Doon Academy and Robert Burns Academy. Many services from East Ayrshire Council attended, such as:

  • Housing Asset Services
  • Greener Communities
  • Ayrshire Roads Alliance
  • SL33
  • Facilities and Property Management
  • Human Resources (HR) Support Team
  • Information Technology (IT)

Alongside us were also a few external companies such as Police Scotland, Shire Housing and Action for Children.

93% of pupils advised that this event either helped them, or will maybe help them in the future with their career planning. Some left positive comments advising that they found it valuable to learn about the number of opportunities out there and the variety of people and jobs on offer.

Public events

Recruitment events took place in February 2024 and March 2023 in Kilmarnock and Cumnock.

At these events we had over 20 services showcasing the best of what they do for young and aspiring apprentices and job seekers. They were a great success and gave attendees an opportunity to interact with and speak to different field experts, allowing them to see the variety of jobs we have to offer.
