The Scottish Parliamentary Elections were held on Thursday 5 May 2016

The Returning Officer again administered the elections in Kilmarnock and Irvine Valley Constituency (East Ayrshire Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6) and Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley Constituency (East Ayrshire Wards 7, 8 and 9 and South Ayrshire Wards 6, 7 and 8).

Results for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley Constituency

  • Jeane Freeman, Scottish National Party (SNP) - 14,690
  • Dawud Islam, Scottish Liberal Democrats - 640
  • Lee Lyons, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party - 7,666
  • Carol Ann Mochan, Scottish Labour Party - 8,684

Total votes cast - 31,795

Jeane Freeman was elected with a majority of 6,006.

The turnout figure within the Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley was 54.30% (electorate - 58,551)

Results for the Kilmarnock and Irvine Valley Constituency

  • Willie Coffey, Scottish National Party (SNP) - 19,047
  • Dave Meechan, Scottish Labour Party - 7,853
  • Rebecca Louise Plenderleith, Scottish Liberal Democrats - 888
  • Brian Whittle, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party - 6,597

Total votes cast - 34,501

Willie Coffey was elected with a majority of 11,194

5 May 2011

The Scottish Parliament Elections 2011 and the Referendum on the UK Parliamentary Voting System were held jointly on Thursday 5 May 2011.

On this occasion, the Returning Officer administered the elections in Kilmarnock and Irvine Valley Constituency (East Ayrshire Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6) and Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley Constituency (East Ayrshire Wards 7, 8 and 9 and South Ayrshire Wards 6, 7 and 8).

Results for Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley Constituency

  • Andrew Chamberlain, Scottish Liberal Democrats - 624
  • Adam Ingram, Scottish National Party - 13,250
  • Peter Kennerley, Scottish Conservative and Unionist - 4,160
  • Richard Leonard, Scottish Labour Party - 10,669

Total votes cast - 28,703

Adam Ingram was elected with a majority of 2,581.

The turnout figure within the Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley was 48.5% (electorate - 59,368)

  • Grant Fergusson, Scottish Conservative and Unionist - 3,309
  • Matt McLaughlin, Scottish Labour Party - 10,971
  • Robbie Simpson, Scottish Liberal Democrats - 614

Total votes cast - 31,858

Willie Coffey was elected with a majority of 5,993

The turnout figure within the Kilmarnock and Irvine Valley Constituency was 55.09% (62,627)

3 May 2007 was a big day for Scottish democracy.  The Scottish Parliamentary and East Ayrshire Council Elections were held jointly on Thursday 3 May 2007.

Willie Coffey was announced as MSP for Kilmarnock and Loudoun Constituency.

Votes cast were as follows:
