Benefits of affiliation
The Sports Council supports clubs with a range of opportunities and initiatives including:
- grant funding*
- facility discount*
- support to access external funding opportunities
- training for club volunteers
- discounts on coach education courses and development
- support to develop/implement policies and procedures
- child protection guidelines
- representation at national forums
- general updates
- nomination of club members for Sports Council awards
- advertising in our sports directory
* Only sports clubs (£40 affiliation fee) not organisations (£25 affiliation fee)
The Sports Council secretary and Sports Development Team can offer support, advice and direction on the following:
- child protection
- starting a new club
- grant applications
- volunteer and coach development in clubs
- organisational structures
- club management/development structures
- club development plans
- constitutions
- funding
- any other issues concerning your club

How to apply
Sports clubs and organisations can affiliate to the Sports Council for a period of a year for £40 (eligible for grant aid funding and facility discount) and £25 (ineligible for grant aid funding and facility discount).
When joining the East Ayrshire Sports Council, we require the following in order to proceed with your application:
In order to complete the affiliation process, the above documents be supplied, these are still required if they have been supplied previously, as this allows your file to be updated and completed.
Only voluntary run sports clubs with sport specific focus and involvement in sports participation and competition are eligible for grant aid. However, all other sports-minded organisations are welcome to affiliate and benefit from updates and training and forge links with the sporting community, but are not eligible for grant aid.
