Winter help and advice
Winter weather can be severe and can quickly disrupt our lives. Being aware and better prepared can help us, our families and our communities to stay safe, warm and healthy throughout the winter months.
Getting ready for winter can help minimise interruption in our everyday lives both at home, and when we are out and about. Even doing one or two simple things now could help save you time and money. Preparation now can also help you stay healthy and avoid becoming unwell.
We make every effort to help local people and businesses wherever we can, but it's everyone's responsibility to be prepared and to take action.
These pages contain helpful information, links and answers to some of your questions about preparing for winter and how we will respond during severe weather. We hope it helps you, your family and your friends to stay safe and well this winter.
You can also visit Ayrshire Roads Alliance's blog where you will find information about their preparations for the winter season.
The Scottish Government’s Resilience Division Ready Scotland regularly publishes alerts on both Twitter and Facebook. Follow and like their pages to keep up to date wherever you are Twitter and Facebook @ReadyScotland #readyscotland.
