The works will see the full repair and refurbishment of the roof and walls. Structural repairs and rot works will be carried out to the floors, walls and roof. New windows, doors and new render will be added and finally a new traditionally styled shop front will be installed.

These works will not require a road closure but scaffold will be located over the public footpath while it remains open and accessible. All deliveries will be carefully managed to minimise impact on traffic flow in the town centre. These works are expected to take 16 weeks to complete.

It is hoped that these works will commence around the same time as the same contractor is carrying out both schemes. Both shops will remain open during the work and both flats occupied.

The Mayflower, 15 Cross Street

This small project will include repairs to the essential fabric of the building. Works will incorporate slated roof works / structural works, lead works, repair and repointing of masonry works, repairs / replacement of rainwater goods, associated timber repairs and rot works, replacement new timber traditional shop front. This project will not require a road closure but scaffolding will be required over the wide public footpath which will remain open and allow pedestrian access.
