How to apply

You need to complete a SEARCH application for housing form. Application forms are also available from any neighbourhood housing office or customer service centre. Find out more about the SEARCH common housing register.

How to fill out your application form

Please take time to complete your application form with as much information about your circumstances, housing requirements and preferences as possible.

Missing information can lead to a delay in your application being processed and inaccurate information could mean you do not receive the correct points.

Care and Support

Care and support points are being introduced to support applicants who require a move of property to allow them to either provide or receive care and support from a relative or carer. A care and support application would require to be completed.

Housing for Older People

If you want to apply for Housing for Older People you will need to complete a Housing for Older People Application.

Help and advice

If you would like help to complete your form or to understand how we allocate our houses, please contact your neighbourhood housing team for advice and assistance.

What happens next

Once we receive your completed application form it will be assessed in accordance with our allocations policy and you will be placed on the appropriate housing list for your circumstances. Every application is assessed individually and those with the greatest housing need receive the greatest priority.
