Proposal

We recognise the importance of Gaelic language, culture, and education and are inviting people to give their views on its Gaelic Language Plan.

The Gaelic Language Plan provides information on how the Council, in partnership with other organisations, will address the needs of individuals, groups, and communities who continue to see Gaelic as a major part of their lives.

The draft Gaelic Language Plan 2023-2028 has been published below and focuses on the two key areas of increasing the use of Gaelic and increasing the learning of Gaelic in East Ayrshire.

Consultation

This consultation closed on 27 April 2023.

How to comment

We invite all with an interest in Gaelic in East Ayrshire to read the Plan and send feedback and comments over the next six weeks via the public consultation survey.

All views will be considered and we will compile a report based on the feedback from the public consultation and any amendments made to the draft.

Download the draft Gaelic Language Plan 2023-2028 and send us your feedback.
