Many people want to be more involved in the safety of their community.

You can do this by joining or setting up a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme in your area. Neighbourhood Watch is a community-led initiative bringing local people together to address crime and other issues. It relies on close relationships with the police and local authority.

The benefits of neighbourhood watch are:

  • problems are shared and discussed
  • areas of concern can be addressed
  • people work together
  • communities are safer
  • relationships are built
  • community spirit is improved
  • you may get a discount on your house insurance

You will receive a starter pack with information on the next step to setting up a scheme, and should there be sufficient interest within your area a member of staff will outline the stages involved in getting the scheme up and running.

The ethos of Neighbourhood Watch is simple and easy to establish. Taking an interest in your local community and looking out for one another is all that is required. It relies on the law abiding and responsible members of our communities being our eyes and ears and contacting us if they see anything suspicious.
