There are a number of pieces of legislation which deal with false descriptions.
It is an offence to do such things as:
- Car clocking
- Misdescribing holidays
- Misdescribing the engine size of a car or the number of previous owners it has had
- Misdescribing property, for example, saying a house has central heating when it does not
Trading Standards are responsible for the enforcement of this legislation.
