Procurement

East Ayrshire Council procures a wide range of goods, services and works. Our Corporate Procurement Team works to ensure all our purchases are economically advantageous, legally compliant, fair and ethical and that the procurement process is open and transparent.

Our procurement vision is 'to deliver commercially effective and compliant procurement processes across the Council. We will procure goods, works and services which will ensure excellent customer service and supplier contract management. We will build the Council's reputation as leaders in procurement, securing innovation, agility, value for money and quality of services'.

All requirements over £50,000 are advertised on Public Contracts Scotland, the national advertising portal. We strongly recommend you register with the site (registration is free) to obtain access to tender and low value (Quick Quote) opportunities. It is important you enter as much information as accurately as possible so that you are notified when appropriate tenders are published.

Procurement strategy

We recently endorsed a new Corporate Procurement Strategy.

The strategy brings together the latest government initiatives and our procurement priorities for 2017–2018. We will continue to provide and arrange innovative and flexible, quality goods, works and services that are responsive to the needs of our local community and deliver optimum value for money.

The strategy also acknowledges that as a public sector body, the Council is bound by statutory public procurement regulations and supporting legislation. It is also acknowledged that all procurement activity must also conform to the processes and governance as detailed in the Council’s Financial Regulations and Standing Orders relating to Contracts.
