The Land Reform Scotland Act (2003) was implemented in February 2005, giving the council several powers and duties to maintain responsible use of the outdoors, both land and inland water. These include the duty to produce a Core Path Plan which meets the needs of the community, providing a number of routes which give reasonable access throughout the area.
Our Core Path Plan was adopted by the Council on 5 November 2008.
You can view the maps of the Core Path Plan on the East Ayrshire maps online link opposite. To find the core path plan routes click on the + icon next to the environment link and then click core path routes.
