Self Harm

The Scottish Government is committed to creating a more successful Scotland with a thriving society that offers everyone the opportunity to reach their full potential.  A key part of that commitment is safeguarding children and young people, promoting their welfare and their emotional and mental wellbeing. It is a priority for Community Planning Partners across Ayrshire.

We developed multi-agency guidance which supports staff across all partner services. This enables them to provide a caring and appropriate response to children and young people, especially those experiencing emotional distress and who may be at risk of deliberate self-harm or have thoughts of suicide.
