The Scottish Milk and Healthy Snack Scheme (SMHSS) funds a daily portion of plain fresh cow’s milk (or specified alternative) and a healthy snack (fruit or vegetables) for pre-school children (from birth to not yet attending primary school) spending two hours or more in the care of a regulated day care provider and/or childminders.
Infant formula will be funded for children up to 12 months.

Registration is now open for 1 August 2023 to 31 July 2024.

Evidence of attendance and purchase will be requested from East Ayrshire Council (EAC) therefore childcare settings should retain proof of purchase, ie receipts, invoices, contracts and attendance registers as they will be requested to provide this for monitoring by EAC
We would ask that all early years settings, including all childminders, who are registered with the Care Inspectorate complete and submit the registration form.
