The Burns Monument Centre in Kilmarnock provides access to Scottish records covering almost 500 years.
Using the ScotlandsPeople software available at the centre you can access:
- statutory birth, death and marriage records from 1855 to the present day as well as census records
- old parish records
- wills and testaments
- various minor records
Whether you are just starting to look into your family or you are a professional researcher, the resources at the Burns Monument Centre are invaluable, including friendly staff available to help.
The £15 fee gives you full‑day access to a computer and the ScotlandsPeople system, which is cheaper than buying credits and using the system at home.

Opening hours are Tuesday to Thursday, 9am to 3:30pm (where available).
The session will end at 3:30pm when the computers shut down.
