Summary of policy aims The East Ayrshire HSCP Workforce Plan 2022-25 sets out how we will achieve the ambition of Recovery, Growth and Transformation set out in the National Workforce Strategy for Health and Social Care. The workforce plan 2022-25 sets out the actions we will take to ensure we have a workforce capable of continuing to deliver robust health and social care services to the people of East Ayrshire. The key objectives of the workforce plan are: • Improving workforce planning capacity across the Partnership including the establishment of an East Ayrshire Workforce Planning Board to coordinate workforce planning activity. • Investing in a talent pipeline to meet future recruitment needs including additional employment opportunities for younger people and new career progression opportunities. • Supporting our workforce gain the knowledge and skills to deliver high quality Health and Social Care services. • Growing our Workforce to meet future demands. • Being an inclusive employer working with EAC and Equality Forums to assess any potential structural barriers to ensure equal employment and representation in the workforce. • Supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our workforce.
Key issues The Workforce Plan 2022-25 is aligned to the aims and objectives of the National Workforce Strategy for Health and Social Care and the East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership Strategic Plan 2021-30. Consultation with service managers, Human Resources, Finance and 3rd sector partners including CVO East Ayrshire and Trade Unions informed the content of the Workforce Plan.
Summary of involvement with Groups The Workforce Plan 2022-25 is an internal service level working document designed to ensure that our workforce meets the aims and objectives of the East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership. Consultation was conducted with service managers, 3rd sector partners and trade unions during the development of the workforce plan. It is expected that Equality Forums will be consulted on taking forward specific actions outlined in the plan.
Key recommendations The workforce plan 2022-25 sets out the actions we will take to ensure we have a diverse workforce capable of continuing to deliver robust health and social care services to the people of East Ayrshire.
