Implementing a new scheduling, monitoring & care management system will improve the efficiency of care worker allocation and office staff functions, which will lead to improvement in quality-of-service provision for service users. However, other than efficiency gains it is not expected to have any significant direct impact on reducing inequalities within any protected groups.
Consideration has been made regarding concerns concerning the flexibility of rotas and the impact that it could have on employees` surrounding flexible working. Engagement with staff will be vital to ensure all staff clearly understand how the new service delivery model will operate and provide reassurance that it will protect workers from being allocated visits out of the area or over shift times. Engagement and involvement with the office and CCO workforce will comprise many forms including a representative and diverse project working group, CCO engagement session discussions, team meetings, pilot user groups and seeking volunteers for Train the Trainer champions for the new system, all allowing direct user input and changes to improve staff and service user experience.
