Challenging Health, Arts, Movements, Play and Sport (CHAMPS)

CHAMPS is an inclusive community club for all children and young people with additional support needs. The club offers opportunities for all to participate in a varied range of sports, activities and games in a relaxed and supportive environment. The sessions are based around the collective needs of the children and young people who attend and the choices they make which form sessions.

Sporting opportunities for all (SOFA)

SOFA is a community club which aims to provide sporting opportunities for all children and young people with any additional support needs. The club is sport-specific however, a wide range of sports will be integrated across the delivery of the sessions each week. The children and young people who attend will be supported and encouraged by staff to build and develop their individual and sporting skills and confidence during the sessions.

  • Tuesday: 6pm-7:30pm

Starbright

Starbright is a community club for all children which provides them an opportunity to engage in various expressive art activities including; acting, singing and art within a supportive environment. The club aims to encourage the individuals who attend to become more confident through the use of their imagination and creativity.

Unique

Unique is a parent led community based club in partnership with Vibrant Communities for all children and young people with additional support needs based in the New Cumnock and surrounding areas. The club offers opportunities for all to participate in a diverse activity and sport sessions each week. The sessions are based around the choices the children and young people make around the activities they want to participate in and the collective needs of the group.

Para football

Para football is a community club for all children and young people aged between 5-18 years old who have additional support needs. The club aims to provide the children and young people to enjoy football in a fun, relaxed and supportive environment. The sessions are semi-structured and based around enjoyment and fun football activities and games. The club is run in partnership with Ayrshire College and KB9 Soccer Academy.

Frame football

This is a parent led community club for all children and young people aged between 3-16 years old, with paediatric walking frames or crutches. This club provides an opportunity for the children and young people to participate in football activities and games.

All ability dance

All ability dance is a community club for all children and young people aged between 5-18 years old. This clubs aims to provide an inclusive environment for all individuals to participate in dance and movement classes, to enhance and develop their individual skills and confidence through participation. This is run in partnership with Ayrshire College and Dynamite Dance.

Motiv8

This is a physical activity club for all adults with physical, sensory and/or learning disabilities. Sessions aim to provide a variety of fun based exercise activities to improve physical abilities, health and wellbeing for adults.

  • Thursday: 11am-12noon
  • Venue: Hunter Fitness Suit, Kilmarnock
  • Price: £1.50

Circ8

Circ8 is an adult fitness based class. The sessions are adapted to enable fitness opportunities to be accessible for those with additional support needs. Delivery and activities are developed to meet the collective and individual needs of participants, to promote positive health and wellbeing lifestyles. This club is ran in partnership with Vibrant Communities and NHS Specialist Physiotherapists.

Access to this club requires NHS physio referral.

  • Price: £1.35

All ability cycles

All ability cycles is a community club for all children, young people and adults who have additional support needs. The club offers all individuals the opportunity to fully participate in cycling with reduced barriers within a fun and supportive environment. There are various types of accessible cycles available to meet the needs of a wide variety of individuals. Cycles include:

  • wheelchair bike
  • side-by-side
  • recumbents
  • tandems
  • tricycles
  • racerunners

Advanced booking is essential. Cycles are booked in 30 minute time slots.

  • Sundays: 10am-12noon
  • Venue: Ayrshire Athletics Arena, Kilmarnock
  • Price: £2 for 30 minutes or £3 for 1 hour
