It was researched and pulled together by local-born physics teacher Graham Boyd with help from his colleagues and Kilmarnock and District History Group.

Originally aimed at encouraging primary school children to look afresh at the town’s historic buildings, the trail now encourages people of all ages to take a tour of 13 sites of historical interest within Kilmarnock Town Centre.
