Getting it right for every child (GIRFEC) training sessions

Training sessions

Multiagency GIRFEC training sessions have been arranged to equip colleagues with the skills and confidence to begin using this approach with young people and families. This includes NHS Ayrshire and Arran and the third sector.

Visit the Ayrshire GIRFEC website to book a training course.

Starting a conversation model - assessing wellbeing

The aim of this resource is to generate discussion about key areas of a child/young person’s/families life based on wellbeing indicators.  The model can be used with children and young people and also with parents and carers to help identify key issues as they arise about risks and protective factors around a child or young person, but also importantly about aspirations.

Following the training session, delegates will receive the Starting a Conversation resource pack and an ambassador pack. Download all of these materials:

National risk framework

The National Risk Framework was launched in November 2012 and sets the framework that we use across children's services to identify and act on child protection concerns. Training sessions on using the framework are available through the multiagency training calender below.

Chairing a Children's Planning Meeting

A helpful pack has been created by our colleagues in Argyle and Bute on chairing a Children's planning / Child's Plan meeting. It is entitled - A practitioners guide to chairing a children's planning meeting.
