Replacement certificates

Replacement certificates can still be ordered online from our dedicated website Certificates.Scot or by telephone, if necessary, on 01563 576695 between the hours of:

  • 10am-12noon and 2pm-4pm Monday to Thursday
  • 10am-12noon and 2pm–3pm on a Friday

All certificates are posted out first class.

Please note there is no collection service available at present. 

You can order replacement birth, death, marriage or civil partnership certificates for events registered in Scotland.

Our Registration Offices are open Monday to Thursday 9am-5pm and Friday 9am-4pm.

Payments can be made by credit or debit card or cheque (made payable to "East Ayrshire Council").

Our Registration Offices cannot take cash payments. We can accept payment by debit/credit card or cheque.

All certificates must be ordered at least 30 minutes prior to the office closing and will be ready for collection or posted after 3pm the next working day. 

A same day Fast Track service is available at an additional cost. 

Frequently asked questions

A certificate purchased within one month of registration will cost £10.  Any certificate outwith one month of registration will cost £15.

The same day fast track service is an additional £5.

Certificates which require to be posted shall be dispatched using Royal Mail and will incur a postage charge. 

You can order any birth, death and marriage certificate registered in Scotland from 1855 to present date and civil partnerships registered in Scotland from 2004 to present date as long as you are able to provide all the details required.

Please note that certificates may not be available if the event was registered outwith East Ayrshire, within the current year.
