East Ayrshire
Tourism makes a significant contribution to our local economy, bringing revenue of £68m into the economy last year and supporting 1,900 local jobs.
Recognising this, we have produced the East Ayrshire Tourism Action Plan in consultation with the industry and public sector partners.
This Plan outlines our aspirations for the tourism sector in East Ayrshire until 2020 and highlights how we will work collaboratively to contribute over that timescale to both the Ayrshire and Arran Strategy and the national growth targets set by the Scottish Government and VisitScotland.

Ayrshire and Arran
In 2011, the Ayrshire Economic Partnership (AEP) made a commitment to work together to strengthen and develop the tourism sector in Ayrshire and Arran by supporting business growth, creating jobs and improving our communities.
The Ayrshire and Arran Tourism Strategy 2012-17 was the first step in fulfilling that commitment – a strategy that was developed and shaped through extensive consultation and engagement with all stakeholders.
