East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership provide a day care service for older people in seven locations throughout East Ayrshire.
We have two larger centres in Kilmarnock and Auchinleck and five sites in Stewarton, Galston, New Cumnock, Patna and Mauchline.
Support available
The aim of Older People’s Day Care Service is to provide social stimulation to people who are experiencing social isolation and to support carers by allowing them a weekly break from their caring role, where this is required.
The day care workforce will assess and review the needs of people who attend to ensure they deliver person-centred care that takes account of their abilities and interests.
Staff will facilitate a range of stimulating daily activities and provide a hot lunch to those who attend.
The Older People’s Day Care Service works with community partners in health and social care to ensure the very best experience for those who use the service.
Transport
Transport is available for those who are unable to get their loved ones to the day centres.
Referrals
Referrals are accepted following assessment via our social work services.
