| Summary of policy aims |
The purpose of the policy is to set high standards of conduct and behaviour by employees. An open, transparent and honest approach to Council activity and service delivery. A reduction in complaints and grievances from employees, customers and service users. Enable us to become an employer of choice. It is anticipated the impact of the policy will be a positive, through improved relationships between employees in the workplace and better standards of behaviour. |
| Key issues |
Reference has been made to dignity at work highlighting that all employees are expected to treat each other and anyone else that they interact with, with dignity and respect. Ensuring that they work in a safe environment that is free from bullying harassment, sexual harassment, the use of sexiest language, all forms of gender based violence, misogyny, discrimination and victimisation. Reference has also been made to minimising occupational segregation and gender pay gaps. There is also reference made to equality during appointments. The policy also encourages managers to be sensitive too cultural differences and disability in the appearance at work section. |
| Summary of involvement with Groups |
A working group meeting took place to discuss the current policy and the updates and changes that needed to be made. Discussions were had with the Workforce Support Officer and Trade Unions about the current policy and it was agreed that it was all relevant to remain. We also discussed what was missing however it was more around AI and confidentiality. |
