This policy provides guiding principles to be followed by all Education employees in relation to the use of AI tools, and gives guidance on the responsible and ethical development of AI solutions. It builds on the guidance detailed in the Corporate AI policy. No guidance can cover every eventuality and where in doubt officers should contact the appropriate Contact(s) below.

This policy is designed to ensure that the use of AI is ethical, complies with all applicable laws and regulations, and complements the Council`s existing information, security and data policies. This policy will does not have direct impact on any of the protected characteristics and therefore does not require a full IIA.
