This Best Value Service Review will lead to many positive outcomes within Corporate Support, and has no significant impacts on any protected characteristics or the duties present within this form.
The review sets out proposed structural changes that have emerged since the last Service review in 2021 along with the related financial implications. It also describes areas of growth in the Council that the Service is required to respond to, ensuring the continued delivery of the Council's Strategic priorities and that the Service remains fit for purpose. The changes to the service are intended to have positive implications and aims to decrease inequality and increase equality of opportunity.
The service continues to lead in the implementation of the Public Sector Equality Duty as set out within the Equality Act 2010, ensuring that the Council fulfils the general duty to eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation, and any other conduct that is prohibited under the Act.
The review notes the current and future needs of the service of the wider team also play a substantial role, Community Planning reduces inequalities in the region through their Community Plan and 3-yearly LOIPs. The data, team targets services where resources are most needed to improve local communities and provide them with effective services. Additionally, the Children`s Services team play a vital role in upholding the rights of our local children and young people, further reducing inequalities in the region.
The Best Value Service Review will continue all of this work, with expansions into new roles to make our team even more effective, and the continuation of our graduate intern programme. The expansion of our team will only create positive impacts on the wider community, as our work to reduce inequality will expand and become more efficient.
As stated above, this Best Value Service Review identifies no risks, impacts or relevant mitigating factors which would require a full Impact Assessment. There is no evidence to suggest that this will change.
