This proposal is only to reduce central funding for swimming lesson and will not remove the ability for schools to still engage in swimming lessons for their pupils through alternative funding. Schools decide on the inclusion of swimming in their curriculum and the accessibility of local pools and PEF funding for those with the highest levels of deprivation ensures that the removal of this central funding will have little impact.
