This assessment for relevance relates to long-term sustainability measures in relation to home care review at the point of community occupational therapy intervention, a review of Option 2 self-directed support, raising awareness and application of technology enabled care, multi-disciplinary working across services and the service-wide implementation of reablement. Long-term sustainability measures refer to cost-reduction and efficiencies of £0.956M. Measures are being taken as management action and to align service activity and available budget. The assessment is not intended to influence individual decisions around changes to service provision. The assessment relates to management action to mitigate increased cost and demand in Locality Health and Care services. A public-facing consultation was undertaken by East Ayrshire Council and budget savings were discussed at an IJB workshop. The service will continue to support carers in collaboration with the Carers Centre, continue to support the workforce in strengths-based practice, harness the potential of technology-enabled care in improving support, focus on early intervention and prevention and commitment to co-design and co-production with delivery partners.
