The Best Value Service Review of Governance Services focuses on internal structures and processes within the Planning and Regulatory Services sections of the service. The review finds that existing arrangements are largely fit for purpose, with recommendations implemented in response to a number of internal and external factors impacting on service, including new legislation and recovery from the Covid-19 Pandemic. The Review highlights steps already taken in relation to increasing opportunities for young people through modern apprenticeships, graduate internships and other training opportunities, in line with the Council`s Workforce Strategy. The Review deletes the post of Operations Manager, currently filled on an Interim Basis and introduces a new post of Chief Planning Officer. Recruitment to this post will be in accordance with HR Policies and Procedures. One further post is recommended for deletion and this post is currently vacant.
