Shaping the landscape, a chance to bid for funds

Community groups, companies and individuals with an interest in landscape restoration and conservation in East Ayrshire are invited to a workshop event this Monday, 30 January at the Boswell Centre, Auchinleck.

Run by East Ayrshire Council and its partners, the free event centres around their upcoming bid for funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund for a Landscape Partnership bid. The programme is for schemes led by partnerships of local, regional and national interests which aim to conserve areas of distinctive landscape character throughout the UK.

The bid will address issues of habitat loss, land management, access and economic regeneration and celebrate East Ayrshire’s rich industrial heritage. If successful, the fund will then be available to help finance groups, individuals and businesses working on plans which conserve, protect and develop the natural environment.

The workshops, being held from 13.30 – 16.15 and again between 17.30 – 20.15 are aimed at identifying opportunities to deliver projects that will benefit the heritage, people and communities of East Ayrshire.  They will build upon previous work including the Community Action Plans, and consultation events for the previous Landscape Partnership bid (2014), North Kyle Masterplan (2015) and Minerals Main Issues Report (2016).

Afternoon and evening sessions are being offered to make sure as many as possible can attend one or both sessions. Free refreshments will be provided.
