It’ll be fun all the way at Kilmarnock’s Cross this summer, as the Town Centre Management team roll out free kids entertainment from 12 – 4pm on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. With everything from clay modelling workshops, to face painting, an owl show and Harry Potter themed fancy dress competitions, there’s a great choice of activities for youngsters from pre 5s upwards, every week from 11 July till 3 August.
Every week the activities will focus on a different theme, starting on 11 and 13 July with Minions. This is followed up with Minecraft on 18 and 20 July, Pokemon on 25 and 27 July and finally Harry Potter on 1 and 3 August. With craft workshops, balloon art, entertainers and soft play, every day will be different, giving kids plenty of reasons to join in while they’re in the town centre.
For Fiona Nicolson, Town Centre Manager, this is yet another innovation in her busy programme of events in Kilmarnock over the summer. She explains: “We’re very fortunate in Kilmarnock in having such a good performance and activity space at the Cross. It’s already proven successful for our Friday Summer Slots, with musicians playing while people sit and have their lunch. In the past our one-off children’s events have been very popular, so we’ve decided to run a total of 8 afternoons, spread over 4 weeks, to encourage families to visit and enjoy the fun and games while they shop.”
