New Cumnock is set to benefit from road resurfacing works on a number of streets as part of a £500,000 budget commitment made by Councillor Douglas Reid, Leader of the Council to improve the condition of roads within local housing estates.
New Cumnock’s six week programme, which will be carried out by the Ayrshire Roads Alliance, will start on Lime Road on Monday 31 August and will extend to:
• Hamilton Drive
• Burnton Place
• Connel View
• Blarene Drive
• Milray Ave
• Ashmark Ave (cul-de-sac)
• Highpark Ave
To ensure the safety of both the roads operatives and the travelling public the streets to be resurfaced will be closed to vehicular traffic, when signed accordingly, and local diversions will be in place where this is possible.
Residents will receive a notice of roadworks before the works will start on each street and advisory signs will also be erected in advance of the works.
Delays will be inevitable during these essential works and the Ayrshire Roads Alliance apologises for any inconvenience caused.
