The Ayrshire Roads Alliance, as part of its ongoing programme to improve the condition of the road network, will be carrying out essential road resurfacing works on the A713 and A70 next month.
This project, which is weather dependent, will involve regulating the existing road surface, laying a new surface course and renewing the associated road markings and road studs.
To ensure the safety of the roads operatives and the travelling public the affected sections of road will have to close for the duration of the works.
The A713 will close between the B742 Dalrymple turn off and the B7034 Hollybush turn off on Saturday 2 April and Sunday 3 April and again on Saturday 9 April and Sunday 10 April from 07:00 until 19:00.
Traffic will be diverted via the A713, B7034 and B742.
The A70 will be closed at Boghead Farm between Cumnock and Muirkirk on Saturday 16 April and Sunday 17 April and again on Saturday 23 April and Sunday 24 April from 07.00 until 19.00.
Traffic will be diverted via the A70, A76 and B743.
Please allow sufficient time when planning your journey as some delays will be inevitable. Advisory signs will be erected in advance of the works to alert the travelling public.
The Ayrshire Roads Alliance apologises for any inconvenience caused during these essential road works.
