East Ayrshire Council’s Clean, Green and Vibrant Initiative won an award at the prestigious Chartered Institute of Housing Excellence Awards recently.
Clean, Green and Vibrant, was created and developed by the Housing Improvement team from Housing Asset Services. The initiative is an innovative approach which has proved to be a winner scooping the Excellence Award for Campaign of the Year.
Housing Asset Services work with colleagues from across the Council and the local community ensuring they are a vital part of all housing improvement works.
Councillor Elena Whitham, Cabinet Member for Housing and Communities said: “The Clean, Green and Vibrant initiative is a worthy winner of the Chartered Institute of Housing Excellence’s Award for Campaign of the Year. The Housing Improvement team has developed a project which is innovative and community centred.
“This approach made East Ayrshire Council stand out from the crowd. Our commitment to our local communities and to making our residents an essential part of the housing improvement journey is sector leading.
“The results are clear to see throughout East Ayrshire. Homes are attractive, safe and energy efficient. There is a greater sense of pride in our communities and people feel empowered. Together we want East Ayrshire to be clean and green and our towns and villages to be vibrant.”
