Instead of climbing the walls with boredom this summer, why not climb the walls (and other things) with parkour?
Or step out in style by shaking down some new dance moves that’ll tingle your toes and impress your besties?
East Ayrshire Council is running three FREE week-long dance and parkour sessions, teaching you all you need to know about cutting your moves and developing your own style.
That’s right – five days of pure parkour and dance-tastic new skills to make your summer even hotter!
But if you snooze, you’ll lose – places are limited.
Parkour classes are capped at 15 and dance classes limited to a maximum of 150.
The summer classes take place at:
• Netherthird Primary School: Monday 3 July to Friday 7 July
• James Hamilton Academy: Monday 31 July to Friday 4 August
• Doon Academy: Monday 7 August to Friday 11 August
As long as you’re a P4-S6 pupil at any East Ayrshire School, you can take part – but remember – places are limited.
No experience is necessary and the sessions are open for pupils from P4 to S6, with each day starting at 10am, finishing at 3pm.
On the final Friday you’ll even get the chance to showcase your impressive new skills to your family and friends!
And don’t worry if you’ve two left feet, because once you learn the basics, everything will turn out all right…
All you need is a packed lunch, some comfy clothes and you must be able to make your own way there and back.
Application forms are available from Joanne Allison, Cultural Coordinator (Dance & Movement) Civic Centre South, John Dickie Street, Kilmarnock, KA1 1HW. You can call on 01563 555650 or send an email to: Joanne.Allison@east-ayrshire.gov.uk
If you’re offered a place, a confirmation letter will be sent out at the end of June.
