Your guide to winter services

Need help finding information on health and care services available this winter? We are here to help!

NHS Ayrshire & Arran and the three Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnerships have produced a comprehensive guide to winter health and care services.

Eddie Fraser, Director of East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership and lead for unscheduled care, explains: “Winter is traditionally a busy time for health and care services, with coughs and colds, flu and bugs doing the rounds. Whatever your health and care needs, we want to make sure you receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

“This comprehensive guide explains the services available to you this winter and gives advice on how you can help us to help you.”

The guide provides information on a range of health and care services, including:

  • when you’re ill, know who to turn to;
  • services available over Christmas and New Year;
  • the role of your community pharmacy;
  • where to go if you have a dental or eye emergency;
  • Ayrshire Urgent Care Service;
  • the role of the Emergency Department;
  • looking after your mental health and wellbeing;
  • addiction services; and
  • sexual health services.
