Seized clothing donated to charity

East Ayrshire Council’s Trading Standards Service has joined forces with a UK charity to ensure that counterfeit goods seized by the team are distributed to people in need.

Working with National Police Aid Convoys, the Trading Standard Service has donated large quantities of seized clothing, which rather than being destroyed, will now be de-branded and distributed to communities in Africa.

The National Police Aid Convoy charity was formed in 1993 by a group of police officers who worked together to deliver aid to refugee camps in the former Yugoslavia. The charity has flourished and now delivers emergency and development aid.
