Rod Stewart will be coming to Kilmarnock on Friday 17 June for a stadium concert at Rugby Park, the home of Kilmarnock FC.
This event will attract thousands of visitors to the town.
To manage this large increase in visitors, it has been agreed with Police Scotland that the following traffic management will be in place from 16:00 on Friday 17 June:
• South Hamilton Street will be closed from the junction of Dundonald Road to the junction of Irvine Road – access allowed for local residents via the letter provided by Kilmarnock Football Club
• a westbound one way closure will be in place on Dundonald Road from McClelland Drive/ Holmes Road junction (Rugby Park entrance)
• a signed diversion route will be in place for South Hamilton Street, this will be Dundonald Road to Portland Road
• while the one way system will be Dundonald Road, Portland Road, Irvine Road, B7064, A759, Dundonald Road.
The concert is due to finish at approximately 23:00 and the traffic management arrangements will remain in place until midnight.
The Ayrshire Road Alliance, on behalf of East Ayrshire Council, has been working closely with Police Scotland, Kilmarnock Football Club and Concert Promoters Cuffe & Taylor to ensure that plans are in place to keep traffic moving safely at the busiest times.
