From Monday 20 April the Ayrshire Roads Alliance will be carrying out essential road resurfacing works on the B7083 between Cumnock and Auchinleck, as part of the ongoing programme of improvements works to the road network.
The work, which will take ten days, will affect the B7083 just south of Bridgend Garage, Auchinleck to, and including, the C23 Rigg Road junction.
This improvement project, which is weather dependent, will involve deep patching, regulating the existing road surface, laying a new surface course and renewing the associated road markings.
To ensure the safety of the workforce and the travelling public, the following traffic management system will be in operation during the works:
• a convoy system and/or two way temporary traffic signals will be in operation on week days (Monday to Friday) and the B7083 will remain open during this period, although delays are possible
• to complete the final surface course, the affected length of road will have to be closed, from 08:00 on Saturday 25 April until 20:00 on Sunday 26 April 2015, or until the works are complete whichever is earliest.
During the closure period, the following diversion will be in place:
• B7083 to A70 at Dettingen Roundabout, to A76 Templeton Roundabout before re-joining the B7083 at Auchinleck and vice versa.
There will be some disruption to the normal bus service during the closure period (Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 April) and Stagecoach will be putting notices to this effect on the local buses and bus stops. For further information please contact Stagecoach on 01290 421930.
Please allow sufficient time when planning your journey as some delays will be inevitable. Advisory signs will be erected in advance of the works to alert the travelling public.
The Ayrshire Roads Alliance apologises for any inconvenience caused during these essential road works.
