In just four weeks time Kay Park in Kilmarnock will be completely transformed for Playday.
The free event will take place on Wednesday 3 August from 11am until 3pm and will include a mix of fun games, creative play and sports taster sessions.
This year’s Playday, which is organised by Vibrant Communities in partnership with the East Ayrshire Community Play Forum, will be split into six different zones.
In the Creative Zone, there will be arts and crafts activities and face painting. The Fun Zone will have bouncy castles, quad bikes, a rodeo bull, giant games and activities for younger children.
Mud slides and water activities will take place in the Messy Zone, while in the Free Play Zone children can build dens and wigwams and enjoy free play with tyres, crates, sand, water and mud.
Canoeing, crate climbing and a sausage sizzle are key attractions in the Adventure Zone and to celebrate this year’s Olympics in Rio the Physical Zone will have taster sessions delivered by local clubs running throughout the day in sports like football, rugby, judo, gymnastics, basketball, golf, cycling and hockey.
Activities will take place regardless of the weather so wear appropriate clothing and bring a towel and a change of clothes if you plan to try out the mud slide.
